A super George V oak desk by London and Yatton furniture makers 'Wake & Dean'.

Stamped 'G.R.V.' and a crown giving provenance of being made for and used by the British government. Also carries the makers stamp and dated to 1932.

Crafted using the finest quarter sawn English oak and retaining its original green Rexine faux leather inset scriber.

A central kneehole with a pair of full depth drawers either side. The drawers have their original brass cup handles, all stamped 'G.R.' and a crown.

This desk is in fully original untouched condition with all of its historic wear and tear on show. Ring marks, pressure marks, knocks and scrapes are all visibly helping to tell its story.

Solid, sturdy, heavy and full of character.

Could be refinished but we love it just as it is.
